Our Lab

I started my firm in 1987. Since the beginning we have made it a major part of our mission to help our agents achieve at levels beyond what they thought was possible for themselves. To do this, we have leaned on our Success Formula. 

Confidence is at the heart of our success formula. I believe that for an agent to gain the confidence necessary to achieve levels of success beyond what they had previously imagined possible they need three things:

  1. Real Estate Education – Real estate education is the foundation of success in this industry. Agents must continue to learn throughout the entirety of their careers—the learning never stops. 
  2. Transactional Coaching – Agents (even superstar agents) need transactional coaching to work through real-world transactional challenges. 
  3. Mindset Training – The first thing you need to know about mindset is that you must believe you can reach the next level in your career. The training we provide helps you to understand how you think and respond in different situations. This enables you, the agent, to make changes in your behavior which helps you take different action steps and see different results. Mindset training also teaches you how to understand your clients better. This makes for clearer, more effective communication at all points in a transaction and allows you to provide a more personal touch.

Alone, each of these three things are important, but none will get you all the way to where you want to be. Together, they will take you to places you never dreamed were possible. 

Meet the Team

Jeff graduated West Point in 1979 and served our military for 5 years, attaining the rank of Captain. He had the honor of serving as the Aide-de-Camp to Lieutenant General Dinges, the Commanding General of the Field Artillery. That assignment was then followed by working as the Executive Assistant to the succeeding Commanding General of the Field Artillery, Lieutenant General Crosby. In 1984, while still on active duty, he received his MBA from Oklahoma City University.

Jeff started his real estate company in 1987 and is the Broker Owner of RE/MAX Right Choice. With nine offices throughout the state, RE/MAX Right Choice is consistently the number one firm in transactions per agent in Connecticut and is consistently ranked among the top in the nation.

Jeff has received many distinguished awards in his career. He has been named a Top 100 Residential agent multiple times. He has repeatedly powered his team to be recognized among the top 5 Commercial Teams in the entire RE/MAX network and in 2010, reached the #1 ranking in the country. In 2015, he was inducted into the RE/MAX Circle of Legends and in 2018 he was named RE/MAX’s Broker Owner of the Year. In 2019, Jeff was the recipient of RE/MAX’s most prestigious honor- the US Distinguished Service Award.

Jeff has been invited to speak at REALTOR events in both the United States and Canada presenting an overview to self-empowerment courses he has authored: 11 G, Greatness is Within and the Power of You. Jeff also was a partner in P3 Coaching (Peak Performance and Profitability) a firm that worked with top real estate brokerages throughout the United States on recruiting, retention, and training for their companies. They also developed a similar program for mortgage brokerages. Jeff has served on numerous Boards of Directors professionally and in the community. He is one of the founders and current President of the non-profit, the Army Baseball Family Association, that supports the current Army West Point baseball team and players, and connects alumni baseball players from the past.

Ed Schultek

Mindset Training

Ed Schultek began his career in sales with Johnson & Johnson and in 1983 moved to PepsiCo International. He was responsible for leading several key company owned and franchised markets in North America as Area Vice President. He transitioned to Frito-Lay/North America, another division of PepsiCo, as Western VP of Sales & Field Marketing. In 1995 Ed transitioned to his third division of PepsiCo where he built and led the first international sales function for PepsiCo International as Senior Vice President of Sales. After several decades in the corporate world Ed opened in 2005 Sandler Training/PEAK Sales Performance, an authorized Sandler Training Center. Sandler Training utilizes distinctive, non traditional sales and management methodologies supported by continual reinforcement through ongoing training and individual coaching sessions.

Alissa Gaines

President, Carlyle Financial
Financing and Valuation 

Alissa Gaines is President and Founder of Carlyle Financial, a real estate mortgage advisory firm in Connecticut to address the need for Capital Advisory Services for Middle Market Real Estate Investors and Owners. 

With over 20 years of experience, she structures financing solutions across all property types - Multifamily, Mixed-Use, Retail, Office, Industrial, Hotel, and Special Purpose.  Alissa has built strong relationships with lenders ranging from local community banks to national financial institutions, Bridge and SBA Lenders.

She previously worked at Chase Manhattan Bank and American Continental Properties.  Alissa is a graduate of Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, and member of the Cornell Real Estate Council.  She is a past President of Commercial Real Estate Women New York (CREW NY) and serves on its’ President’s Council. 

Justin Henry

Senior Financial Analyst,

Financing and Valuation

Justin Henry began working in commercial real estate in 2017.  He joined a real estate development and financial advisory firm, working alongside the sales and acquisitions team to procure distressed assets across the five boroughs of New York.

He later transitioned into a financial role when he joined Silverthread Capital, a mortgage brokerage firm.  His commercial real estate finance experience began as a Lead Generator to the team.  He later assumed the role as a Commercial Mortgage Broker, then finally became the team’s Financial Analyst and Operation’s Manager.

Justin later joined Carlyle Financial as the group’s Senior Financial Analyst working with the Principal, underwriting and processing loan requests for owners and investors of commercial property.  He has worked on major asset classes including Multifamily, Mixed-Use, Retail, and Office and special purpose properties.

Justin earned his Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investments at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA in Risk Management and Insurance from St. John’s University Tobin College of Business.

Sue Griggs O'Shea

Director, Coach Jeff Wright

Sue Griggs O'Shea has been working alongside Coach Jeff Wright as the Managing Director of RE/MAX Right Choice since 2017. In this role, she supports agents in a variety of ways to help them be more successful. Sue's responsibilities have recently expanded to include the role of Director for Coach Jeff Wright and his latest venture to educate residential agents who want to learn about Commercial Real Estate. She has been licensed in real estate since 2002. Sue has a passion for health and wellness and educating people about the benefits of whole food nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. She also enjoys volunteering, fundraising, and lending a helping hand wherever she can.
